"According to the Federal Security Council of Russia, a citizen of Kazakhstan was caught at Karauzek checkpoint while attempting to smuggle 31 cans of black caviar. He hid the freight in the boot of his Mercedez-Benz," the message reports.
The man said he bought the caviar on the market in Atyrau and wanted to sell it in Asrakhan to earn approximately 200 000 rubles.
A criminal case was opened on the fact of smuggling of precious breed of fish recorded in the Red Book. The man has been sentenced 4 years imprisonment and 600 000 rubles fine.
