EAEU nulls duties on certain goods containing precious metals

Almaty. May 23. KazTAG - At a meeting of the board of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) on May 22, it was decided to reset customs duties on certain goods containing precious metals, reports the EEC press-service.
"The members of the EEC Collegium have decided to reset the import customs duties of the Single Customs Tariff of the Eurasian Economic Union to certain types of raw materials of mineral origin containing precious metal or precious metal compounds," reads the statement.
The solution will affect silver and gold in the form of powder, raw platinum, rhodium, iridium, etc. In accordance with the previously adopted decision of the EEC Board  zero rate on these goods was applied in 2017, but now their rates vary from 3% to 15%.
"The new measure, introduced until June 30, 2020, will promote the development of processing and refining enterprises, increase the utilization of their production capacities and competitiveness," the message reports.
