Minister promised to lower deficit of domestic jet fuel in Kazakhstan

Astana. May 24. KazTAG - Deficit of domestic jet fuel will be annually decreased affecting the fares of air tickets, said Zhenis Kasymbek, minister of investments and development of Kazakhstan.
"Next year the Ministry of Energy and our colleagues from the refineries promised to lower the deficit of domestic jet fuel annually, within 1.5 years they will supply the domestic market with jet fuel. Thus, the cost of jet fuel will be different. We expect it to lower by at least 20%, it is supposed to affect the cost of air tickets," he said at the meeting with population.
He said the air companies fix the tickets fares independently, but 30% of the fare makes the cost of jet fuel.
"In previous years when all our three refineries were under reconstruction, deficit of domestic jet fuel was much higher than this year. Today the Ministry of Energy declared that 58% of jet fuel is domestic. Last year it was about 30-40%. Thus, purchasing jet fuel abroad, from Russia, taking in account transport and other expenses, the cost of jet fuel was different and it affected the fares of tickets," he said.
