"The Alley of Champions is getting bigger. Well known athletes of Kazakhstan have planted fir trees on the alley of stars in Astana today. Prize winner of the Olympic Games 2014 Denis Ten, bronze winner of the Olympic games Otgontsegtseg Galbadrah, box world champion Merey Akshalov, prize winner of winter Asian games-2011 and standard bearer of Kazakhstan team at the last Olympic Games Abzal Azhgaliyev have planted their trees," reads the message.
The alley is located in the "Park of Enamored" which has become one of the favorite spots among the city dwellers.
"I am glad to be involved in this interesting project. It is a dream of any man- to plant a tree, to start a new life. An athlete’s' career lasts for decades, while trees live for hundreds years. It is a great event, I will be glad if my family attend this place and know that there was a part of their family," said D. Ten.
