$90 thousand confiscated from a Georgian citizen in Kazakhstan

Atyrau. April 17. KazTAG - $90 thousand was confiscated from a Georgian citizen for state income in Kazakhstan, reports the State Revenue Committee.
“In February 2024, while boarding an international flight in the Atyrau-Kutaisi direction, a Georgian citizen was found to have cash in the amount of $100 thousand. There were $10 thousand in hand luggage, the remaining $90 thousand were in the baggage of  the man. Hidden funds were discovered in the offender’s luggage by employees of the customs post “Auezhay-Atyrau” of the Atyrau region during customs control. (...) According to the court decision, which entered into force, $90 thousand was confiscated to the state, the remaining $10 thousand was returned to the citizen of Georgia. An administrative fine in the amount of 40 MCI was also collected from him,” the statement said.
